For more than 25 years, Tom Glavin has been a leader in locksmith services in the Chicagoland area.

In 1978, Tom and his wife, Pat, purchased MJ Glavin Locksmiths, which had been his father’s business for twenty-five years. Tom grew up in the industry, passing the locksmith test before going to his senior prom. The security business has been his life's work, providing the most advanced, professional and customized security for Chicagoland homes and businesses.

The company’s mission is to make a positive impact on the community by protecting lives and property. For Tom, the emphasis is on quality and trust, with respect to both premium security products and the highly skilled professional locksmiths that he hires and trains. He continues a 50-year family tradition by offering experienced consultation, tailoring solutions to the specific needs of customers, guaranteeing his work, and servicing every product he sells. In doing so, he attracts customers who are concerned for their safety and want an expert to rely on.

Tom has also become a community leader and is an active member of several professional and community associations, including the Associated Locksmiths of America, American Society for Industrial Security, Chief Engineers Association, Chicago Police CAPS Program, Buildings Owners and Managers Association, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, where he is past chairman of their Small Business Council.

His highly professional attitude, his standard of excellence in products and services, and his reputable management style have all combined to earn him several awards and honors. Among them are: Locksmith of the Year; Certified Master Locksmith; acknowledgment in the Open Book Experience (a recent business book featuring successful entrepreneurs); and the opportunity to act as both a presenter and instructor for The Gathering of the Games, a national business conference sponsored by Inc. Magazine.

After 20 years, Tom continues to strive for excellence by staying well informed of the latest in security technology, the changing needs of his customer base, and advances in business management theories and programs. This vitality and unwavering enthusiasm are simply part of his personality. He has been married to and partners with his high school sweetheart, Pat, for twenty-seven years, and together they are very active with their three children, as well as with their business.
